You can accomplish this using the note properties. The "trick", if there is any, is to write notes that are seen but not heard in one voice, and on a second voice, write the notes that are heard but not seen. Mike will have to forgive me for being somewhat out of the loop, it has actually been a while since I've been to, and I am trying to catch up myself. If there is someone out there willing to write a diddle plugin, then I can assure you I would probably be the first to use it. I'm certain that when the programmers see it, they will freak out at the crudeness of the hack, but I'm not a programmer and it seems to work. For those really looking for diddle notation, I have attached the musescore file to show how I managed to make diddles. I have also attached an example of a short street-beat I have written with the new soundfont and instrument list. Again, if you have any suggestions for changes and improvements, please let me know. Note that the instruments have been updated to reflect the battery only (Snare, Bass Drums, Cymbals, and Marching Tenors).

I am less than satisfied with the overall quality of the tenor drums and the bass drums, so if you have any better sounding recordings to send to me, then I will be happy to update it. All the sounds with the original TimGM6 soundfont have not been altered.Īll the drumline sounds in the soundfont were either recorded by me, or taken from publicly accessible sources on the web. Change the path to the soundfont at this location. Change the soundfont over by going to the "display" drop down menu and select "synthesizer". On the "general" tab, you then change the path on the "Instrument List" (about half-way down the window" to select the instrumentswithDL.xml file. You can then start musescore, and go to the "edit" menu and select "preferences". Simply copy and paste instrumentswithDL.xml into the "musescore/templates" directory and copy the "TimGM6withDL.sf2" file into the "musescore/sound" directory. The files replace the standard instruments file or soundfont file.

Having a marching band without a drumline leaves it incomplete. Drumlines are one of the most important aspects of a marching band. The key to being a good musician is practice. Evans drum heads and Remo drum heads are great to use for marching percussion equipment. Depending on what type of drum you are working with, whether it be marching snare drum batter or snare side heads or marching tenor drum heads, the correct seletion is essential. Drum head selection is important as well. Both Sabian and Zildjian have a great selection of ride cymbals, hi-hats, splash cymbals, and various other effects cymbals to choose from. We recommend Sabian crash cymbals in a variety of diameters as well as Zildjian crash cymbals. Cymbal selection for marching percussion drumlines is also a very important factor to consider. Drum stick selection varies when it comes to choosing a pair for drum set or marching percussion instruments such as snare drum, tenors, or bass drums. This is why we recommend both Pro-Mark and Vic-Firth drum sticks. As a musician it is your call when you feel to make the appropriate decision when it comes to stick selection. Choosing the right drum stick is very important. Pearl drums, Dynasty drums, Tama drums, Mapex drums, and Ludwig drums are all percussion companies that we greatly support as well. However, is a fan of anything percussion related. We support vic-firth drum sticks, remo and evans marching drum heads as well as Yamaha marching percussion drums and drum sets.
